The Geological Map of Italy at 1:1250,000 scale has been published for the 3dnd International Geological Congress – Florence 2004. The map is based on the review of a new geological map at 1:500,000 scale.
The Geological Map of Italy at 1:1000,000 scale provides a summary geological map of Italy based on data collected in the last decades, mainly through the CARG project.
The 277 geological sheets of the Geological Map of Italy at 1:100,000 scale and related illustrative notes have been realized in the period between 1877 and 1976, covering the entire italian territory.
In the frame of the CARG project, it was realized the geological map of the Adriatic Sea at 1:250,000 scale, in 6 sheets. Each sheet is subdivided in surficial and underground level.
The project CARG aims at publishing 636 geological and geothematic sheets at 1:50,000 scale, that comprehend the entire Italian territory. To date, 285 geological sheets have been already published.
