Through GeoERA, 15 three-year Horizon2020 projects have been funded with the common goal of improving the use and optimal management of subsoil resources (raw materials, energy, groundwater) and to develop an integrated information platform to guarantee access to data and results.

The achieved results highlighted Earth Sciences can contribute to the achievement of several goals set by the European Green Deal, including resilience to natural hazards, climate change and the target for a clean energy. This contribution was also widely acknowledged by representatives of the competent institutions in georesources at the European Commission which, on the occasion of the Final Meeting, underlined the importance of knowledge, data and geoscientific information for policies and decision-making processes.
