GISDAY, an annual appointment to celebrate culture and GIS technology

This year, the 2020 edition of GIS Day will take place in Perugia on November 18 in online mode starting at 15:00.

GIS Day is dedicated to the celebration of geographic culture, the science of where, geospatial technologies and their multiple applications that make a difference in our society and will focus on "GIS for citizen science", a very current and of global interest that sees citizens as protagonists of scientific knowledge through the voluntary reporting of geo-localized data.

GIS Day therefore intends to offer to the whole community the opportunity to share their results, to inspire others to innovate and integrate the geographical dimension, to discover new ways of using GIS to collect and create valuable information.

The event, organized by GisAction, sees as co-organizer the Umbria Region which for years has been the GIS in the management of the hydrogeological, hydraulic and seismic risk service, in soil defense and for numerous other daily activities.

ISPRA participates in the event with a presentation dedicated to "The open source platform on hydrogeological instability in Italy".
