Geonews, newsletter of the Geological Survey of Italy, n.2/2020 is online

In this second issue of the year, which we managed to publish even in this period  of  health emergency, we give space to issues such as the Green Deal which involves many geological topics as explained, during an interview with the contact person of the Department of the Geological Survey of Italy and two Professors of the Department of Earth Sciences (DES) of Sapienza University of Rome.

Geological knowledge of the subsoil is the starting point for  searching clean energy, for identifying of sites for the storage of CO2, which is one of the main objectives of the Green Deal, in order to facilitate the decarbonisation process. The achievement of these goals as experts explain us cannot leave out joint action both at national and European level.

In this second issue you will also find several interesting topics  concern the use of soil in Italy, the important of historical cartography for nowday, the network of Italian parks and mining museums and the results of Repertory of mitigation measures for National SoilProtection (ReNDiS) after  twenty years of monitoring and its evolution over time.

This time the Events section is missing, as we are not currently able to give precise information on the reprogramming of all the events scheduled for the coming months, due the COVID emergency.
